About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Weston‑super‑Mare. The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring young people through creative, engaging, and practical food and nutrition lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to high-quality teaching and learning, innovative curriculum delivery, and supporting students to develop valuable life skills.

What We’re Looking For

• A PGCE in Secondary Education (Food Technology or related specialism).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver an exciting, modern Food Technology curriculum.
• A positive, student‑centred approach and a commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a dedicated DT faculty.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Food Technology lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
• Create a safe, well‑managed practical learning environment.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular opportunities within the department.
• Engage with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student success.
