Monarch Education are currently supporting a secondary school in Small Heath who are looking to appoint a Food Technology Teacher for a full-time role starting in September.

This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, offering a good opportunity for someone looking to settle into a school and build consistency in their teaching.

The role involves delivering Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school are looking for someone who can deliver well-structured practical and theory lessons, while supporting students to develop both subject knowledge and confidence.

You will be joining a supportive department and will be expected to contribute to planning, assessment and student progress within the subject.

Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Deliver Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Run practical sessions in a safe and organised way
  • Support students with coursework and written tasks
  • Plan lessons that are accessible to a range of abilities
  • Prepare students for assessments and GCSE content
  • Manage behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Work closely with colleagues within the department

To be considered, you will need:

  • QTS
  • Experience teaching Food Technology or Design Technology in a secondary school
  • A good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
  • Confidence managing practical lessons and maintaining behaviour
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • A reliable and professional approach
