We are working with an extremely well regarded school in Stockport who are seeking a Geography Teacher to begin work in either mid-November or January dependent on availability.

The school is an oversubscribed Private school, that every year obtains outstanding examination results. The school is looking for an individual who is able to quickly build strong working relationships with staff and students. It is crucial that the applicant is able to operate in fast, proactive manner at all times, in order to meet the high expectations that the school has. The school is looking for someone who is well versed when it comes to working with the higher achievers at KS4 level. Additionally, it is crucial that the applicant can make suitable arrangements for those with SEN requirements.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Delivering Geography lessons up to KS4, differentiating work set to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Providing learners with a positive learning environment at all times, effectively managing student behaviour in line with school policy.
  • Providing students with consistent in-class support, setting engaging homework asks as well as preparing students for internal assessments.
  • Implementing strategies designed to boost engagement within the classroom, using innovative teaching methods to inspire learners.
  • Working in collaboration with support staff – including Teaching Assistants and subject specific support staff.
  • Providing senior leaders with regular updates on student progression rates, liaising with the SENCO and support staff when necessary.
  • Providing feedback on student development to parents when required.
