Monarch Education is looking for passionate and articulate Graduate English Teaching Assistants to support a network of secondary schools across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic stepping stone for anyone considering teacher training or looking to gain meaningful experience in a school setting. You’ll have the chance to share your love of language and literature while helping students develop essential communication skills and confidence.

Your Role Will Include:

• Supporting KS3 and KS4 students through small group and one-to-one English interventions.
• Assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging literacy sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
• Creating dynamic resources that spark interest and improve outcomes.
• Tracking student progress and using data to inform targeted support strategies.
• Collaborating with teachers and support staff to foster a positive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject.
• Ideally, experience working with young people or in an educational setting.
• A calm, encouraging, and professional approach.
• A genuine enthusiasm for education and student development.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (free course available through Monarch).
• Two references covering the last two years.
