Monarch Education is recruiting enthusiastic and committed Graduate Learning Support Assistants to work within SEND and alternative provision settings across Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, social work, youth work, counselling, speech and language therapy, or SEND support.

About the Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to help them engage in learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

You may support children with:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Behavioural and emotional challenges

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Help implement individual learning plans and intervention programmes.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence and resilience.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:

  • Education, Psychology, Childhood Studies, Criminology, Sociology and Social Work students or graduates.
  • Individuals currently on placement within schools, colleges or child-centred settings.
  • Graduates seeking practical experience before teacher training or further study.
  • Candidates with experience through volunteering, coaching, mentoring, youth work or support work.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people through placements, volunteering, coaching or employment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Right to work in the UK.
