We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic Hair & Beauty KS4 Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in B36, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vocational educator to make a positive impact on learners by developing their practical skills, industry knowledge, confidence, and employability within the Hair & Beauty sector.

Qualification Required: Must hold a recognised Hair & Beauty qualification (Level 3 or above preferred) and a recognised teaching qualification
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS or equivalent).
- A recognised Hair & Beauty qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Strong vocational knowledge across Hair & Beauty disciplines, including practical salon skills and industry standards.
- Experience teaching Hair & Beauty to KS4 learners.
- The ability to deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons that inspire learners.
- Experience preparing students for vocational qualifications, assessments, and practical examinations.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to motivate, engage, and support learners of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Experience tracking learner progress and using assessment data to inform teaching.
- A commitment to inclusive education and raising learner achievement.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Hair & Beauty lessons in line with curriculum and qualification requirements.
- Teach both theoretical knowledge and practical salon-based skills to KS4 learners.
- Support students in developing professional standards, client care skills, and industry awareness.
- Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including SEND and EAL students.
- Monitor, assess, and track learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for practical assessments, coursework, and vocational qualifications.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and contribute to departmental tracking and reporting processes.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment that promotes learner success.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed within practical learning environments.
- Manage behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers, and pastoral teams to support learner development.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner welfare, and professional practice.
