Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a thriving multi-academy trust school in Redfield (BS5) to recruit an inspiring and driven Head of Maths to cover maternity leave until 31 August 2027.

The Role

As Head of Maths, you will provide strategic leadership for the department, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong outcomes for students across all key stages. You will play a central role in shaping the curriculum, supporting staff development, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Maths department to deliver consistently high standards
  • Support, coach and develop teaching staff to enhance performance and practice
  • Plan and implement an engaging and ambitious Maths curriculum
  • Monitor student progress and use data to inform targeted interventions
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold the trust’s values

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Maths teaching
  • Experience in a leadership role such as Head of Department or Second in Department
  • A proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork
  • A passion for delivering high-quality education and supporting student success
