Qualification Required: Must hold a degree in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a relevant subject, together with a recognised teaching qualification.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, QTS, or equivalent).
• A degree in Health & Social Care or a closely related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge across Health & Social Care programmes, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 qualifications.
• Experience delivering engaging classroom-based learning to post-16 learners.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, person-centred care, and current sector practices.
• The ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their academic and career goals.
• Experience assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback to support progress.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Health & Social Care lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of units, including human lifespan development, safeguarding, health promotion, communication, and working in the care sector.
• Assess learner progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records.
• Support learners of varying abilities to achieve their qualifications and progression goals.
• Embed English, maths, digital skills, and employability skills within teaching and learning activities.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, and achievement, implementing interventions where required.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment that promotes learner success.
• Prepare learners for external assessments, coursework, and vocational progression opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure outstanding learner outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, learner welfare, and professional practice.
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement activities, standardisation meetings, and curriculum development.
