Monarch Education is partnering with a secondary school in Dudley to recruit a full-time History Teacher to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 on a long-term basis starting in September
Role Overview
- Deliver History lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Teach students across KS3 and KS4
- Support learners in preparation for GCSE exams and assessments
- Maintain effective classroom behaviour in line with school policy
- Adapt teaching to suit a range of abilities, including SEN pupils
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress and attainment
- Take part in wider school activities, including intervention sessions where needed
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a broad History curriculum across different periods and themes
- Develop students’ historical knowledge, source analysis, and critical thinking
- Apply behaviour management strategies to support learning
- Use performance data to inform lesson planning and targeted support
- Work collaboratively with department staff on curriculum delivery
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and reporting
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school
- Ability to teach across KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Good understanding of GCSE History content and exam requirements
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply
