Monarch Education is recruiting for a highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Aston.

The school is seeking an experienced and motivated HLTA to support pupils within a Resource Base setting. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and have prior experience working with children in a Resource Base environment.

This role involves providing high-quality support to pupils with additional needs, delivering tailored learning activities, and working closely with teachers, specialists, and external professionals to ensure pupils’ progress and well-being. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment where pupils with SEND can thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with special educational needs within the Resource Base, helping them access and engage with the curriculum
• Lead and deliver tailored learning activities based on individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Assist in planning and implementing learning strategies in collaboration with class teachers and specialists
• Support the development of social, emotional, and behavioural skills
• Monitor, record, and report on pupils’ progress and behaviour
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
• Support pupils’ independence and social interaction through targeted interventions

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum Level 4 Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
• Proven experience working with children with SEND in a Resource Base setting
• Knowledge of the national curriculum and how to adapt activities to meet individual needs
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting pupil development
