We are working with a lovely primary school in central Coventry that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 qualified (or above) Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant team. This is a long-term position to start as soon as possible, with interviews and trial days currently taking place. Job Overview

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching staff and ensuring students receive a high-quality learning experience. Your responsibilities will include assisting in delivering engaging lessons, working closely with pupils both individually and in groups, and covering classes when required. You will also support pupils with additional educational needs, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring learning objectives are achieved
• Provide targeted, one-to-one support for pupils who need extra help
• Lead small group activities and intervention sessions to reinforce learning
• Cover classes when required, maintaining a positive and orderly classroom atmosphere
• Contribute to the development of lesson plans and resources
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff
• Foster an inclusive environment that encourages engagement and academic growth
• Collaborate with colleagues and take an active role in school events and extracurricular activities

Requirements

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and supporting children’s development
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff
• Be flexible and adaptable to work across different classroom settings and support various subjects
• Show empathy and understanding for pupils with diverse needs and backgrounds
• Be a team player committed to contributing positively to the school community

Desirable Skills

• Experience working in a primary school environment
• Knowledge of the national curriculum and educational standards
• Additional qualifications or training related to education or child development
• Familiarity with behaviour management strategies
• Experience leading extracurricular activities or initiatives
