Monarch Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school on a long-term basis, extending through the academic year and into the Autumn Term. Key Responsibilities of a History Teacher:
- Curriculum Development: Design and deliver compelling lesson plans aligned with national standards and tailored to student needs.
- Instruction: Teach historical concepts, skills, and debates across KS3, KS4, and KS5, encouraging analytical thinking.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Create and mark assessments to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Differentiation: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Discussion Facilitation: Foster lively discussions on historical events, encouraging multiple perspectives and critical analysis.
- Skill Development: Enhance students’ research, writing, and presentation skills related to history topics.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respectful behaviour and engagement.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to support student progress and well-being.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional growth through training and educational developments.
- Support and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic and personal development.
- Cultural Awareness: Promote understanding of diverse historical perspectives and contexts.
- Technology Integration: Use educational technology and resources to enrich lessons and stimulate student interest.
Qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
- A degree in History or a related subject.
Experience:
- Proven experience teaching History at KS3, KS4, and KS5, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
- Experience using diverse assessment methods and adapting teaching to meet individual student needs.
- Ability to analyse data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
