Inclusion Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Cheltenham
Pay: £14.25 – £18 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days)

Monarch Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Cheltenham to recruit a dedicated Inclusion Assistant to support the school’s SEND and inclusion provision.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education administration, SEND support, pastoral care, or school-based inclusion who is passionate about helping pupils access the support they need to thrive.

The Role

Working closely with the school’s SENCO, you will play a key role in coordinating and supporting SEND processes across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the SENCO.
  • Communicating with parents via meetings, telephone calls and email regarding low-level SEND and inclusion matters.
  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals to support pupils’ needs.
  • Completing and submitting referral forms and associated documentation.
  • Supporting the completion of SEND assessments and paperwork.
  • Monitoring SEND processes and ensuring key deadlines are met across the wider school team.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Providing occasional classroom cover when support staff are absent.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within a school setting.
  • Knowledge or understanding of SEND processes and educational support systems.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff and external professionals.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.

Working Pattern

  • 15 hours per week
  • Equivalent to 2 days per week
  • One working day must be either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday
  • The second day is flexible
  • Hours may also be spread across 3 shorter days for the right candidate
