About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, confident and compassionate Inclusion Manager to join our client thriving secondary school in East Bristol. This is a pivotal role within our pastoral and inclusion team, with a strong focus on behaviour management and supporting students to re-engage positively with learning.

A key part of the role involves managing the school’s Behaviour Room, ensuring it runs effectively as a space for reflection, intervention, and behaviour reset. We are looking for a professional who can combine a strong presence with empathy, fairness, and a consistent approach.

This role would suit individuals with experience such as:

  • Head of House / Head of Year
  • Behaviour Mentors / Pastoral Leads
  • Teachers looking for a non-teaching pastoral leadership role
  • Professionals with substantial experience working with young people aged 11-16 in a structured environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the Behaviour Room.
  • Implement and uphold the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
  • Work closely with Heads of Year, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
  • Develop intervention strategies to support students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
  • Track and analyse behaviour data, identifying patterns and implementing improvements.
  • Liaise with families, external agencies, and internal staff to support student behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to a whole‑school culture of inclusion, respect, and high expectations.

  • A strong, calm and authoritative presence with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Proven experience working with young people aged 11-16, ideally in a behaviour, pastoral or leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing demands.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and improving student outcomes.
