Monarch Education are working with a School in Birmingham who are looking for a proactive and resilient IT Technician to join their school from September 2025. Who excels in managing school’s systems and can provide assistance with hardware, software and network issues. This position is for a full-time role which will be ideal for someone who is experienced with school technology and someone who already has school experience in this role who is, professional, kind and caring.

Job Description:

The School IT Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems within the school. They will provide technical support to staff and students, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and securely.

  • Install, configure and maintain computers, printers and other peripherals.
  • Manage and support network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, routers and switches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues promptly.
  • Assist staff and students with technical problems and provide user support.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Ensure cybersecurity protocols are followed and perform routine system backups.
  • Collaborate with school administration on technology upgrades and initiatives.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological trends relevant to educational environments.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an IT Technician.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software and network systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
