Kitchen Assistants – School Setting
Location: Swindon
Hours: Various shifts available, Monday-Friday
Pay: Competitive hourly rate
Start Date: £12.71 to £14.61 per hour
We are currently recruiting for two Kitchen Assistants to join a busy and friendly school catering team. These roles are ideal for reliable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and helping to provide high-quality meals for pupils and staff.
Available Roles:
Kitchen Assistant (Cleaning & Dining Support)
- Washing up and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen.
- Cleaning down kitchen areas in line with food hygiene standards.
- Setting out and laying tables ready for lunch service.
- Assisting with general kitchen duties as required.
Kitchen Assistant (Food Preparation & Service)
- Supporting the Chef with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
- Assisting with serving meals during lunch service.
- Helping with food presentation and kitchen organisation.
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food service environment is desirable.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and hard-working approach.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Essential Requirements:
- Food Safety qualification.
- Allergens Awareness training.
- Benedict’s Law Awareness.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Satisfactory references and all relevant pre-employment recruitment checks.
