KS1 Teaching Assistant

Job Title: Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
Location: Birmingham, B34
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a highly experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the B34 area of Birmingham. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Key Stage 1 support and excellent phonics knowledge, ready to make an immediate impact in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated support to pupils in Year 1, assisting with learning activities and classroom routines.
• Deliver and reinforce phonics sessions using recognised schemes such as Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or similar.
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement lesson plans and targeted interventions.
• Support pupils with varying needs to ensure inclusive and effective learning.
• Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Childcare-related qualification.
• Significant experience working in Year 1 or KS1 is essential.
• Strong Little Wandle or read,write inc phonics knowledge and experience delivering phonics interventions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
