Monarch Education is working alongside a Primary School in Sheldon. We are seeking a Learning Mentor to join the team on a full‑time basis, starting as soon as possible. Previous experience as a Learning Mentor is essential. Please do not apply without being able to evidence that you have completed at least 1 year in a Learning Mentor role in a UK SCHOOL.
About the Role
The Learning Mentor will support pupils who face barriers to learning. The role involves direct work with pupils, staff, and parents to improve participation, behaviour, and progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with pupils on a one‑to‑one basis to address learning, behaviour, and engagement needs
- Lead small‑group sessions that focus on confidence, behaviour routines, social skills, or learning strategies
- Identify barriers to learning and help pupils develop practical skills to improve attendance, focus, and participation
- Support pupils in the classroom to help them access learning and complete tasks
- Monitor pupil progress, keep records, and share updates with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Support pupils during transitions, including movement between lessons or reintegration after absence
- Communicate with parents and carers when needed to support pupil progress
- Contribute to intervention plans and behaviour plans
- Promote routines and expectations that help pupils engage in learning
- Help create a consistent and supportive environment for pupils who need additional guidance
