Learning Support Assistant – Leamington Spa

Monarch Education are working with a Primary School in the Leamington Spa area, who are looking for an experienced LSA. We have a number of schools that cater for pupils with SEND aged 5-11 years. The needs of the pupils vary, from ASD, Social Emotional Mental Health Needs, PMLD, Physical needs, learning difficulties. We have work available NOW with full time opportunities available.

Ideal candidates will need to have experience of working with SEND in children. You must have a passion for supporting additional needs and helping children to reach their true potential, working hand-in-hand with the classroom teachers to ensure that activities are differentiated for pupil’s individual needs.

The ideal candidate for this role will hold / be confident in the following:

  • Recognise signs of distress and offer reassurance
  • Experience of working with children with a range of SEN such as Autism and ADHD
  • Being sensitive to the individual needs of pupils and to be firm when necessary.
  • Up to date Team Teach Training (preferable – not essential)
  • Using a range of behaviour management strategies and promoting good behaviours through positive reinforcement
  • Demonstrating resilience, initiative and a drive for inspiring pupils to engage with education and learning
  • To have due regard to the Health & Safety at Work legislation in carrying out all aspects of the post.

Your application will be subject to an enhanced DBS and two references, so it is essential that you have previous experience of working in an Education Setting.
