Monarch Education is currently recruiting dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work on a flexible supply basis in secondary schools across Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who thrive in a supportive role, helping students overcome barriers to learning and providing pastoral care that makes a real difference in their school experience.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored academic support to students who need additional help with their learning.
• Offer pastoral support to promote student well-being, confidence, and engagement.
• Work closely with teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies.
• Support students with SEND or social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people in an educational or care setting.
• A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different schools and year groups.
• A genuine passion for supporting student development.

Requirements:

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (Monarch offers a free online course).
• Two references covering the last two years.
