As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional help due to learning difficulties, disabilities, or other barriers to education. You will support them both in and out of the classroom, helping to foster confidence, independence, and academic progress.
The Candidate will need:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs
- Assisting in the delivery of differentiated learning activities
- Supporting students’ emotional and social development
- Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Liaising with teachers and SEN staff to monitor progress and adapt support
