Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Bristol that is looking for a QTS French & Spanish Teacher to join their MFL department from March 2026. About the Role

In this long-term role, you will deliver high-quality French and Spanish lessons across KS3 and KS4, bringing energy, expertise, and structure to your teaching. You will guide students through pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, cultural understanding, and communication skills, helping them grow in confidence and fluency. You will be responsible for planning lessons, marking, assessment, and contributing to the enrichment and development of the MFL curriculum.

You will establish clear routines, uphold high expectations, and encourage students to engage with language learning in a purposeful and enjoyable way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging French and Spanish lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students in building strong speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Follow school policies, departmental schemes of work, and curriculum plans
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Encourage cultural appreciation, confidence, and enjoyment of languages
  • Provide extra support to learners who need help with understanding or confidence
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive, respectful, and community-focused ethos
  • Promote high standards in linguistic accuracy, independence, and resilience

  • QTS with experience teaching French & Spanish at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, challenge, and support mixed-ability learners
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to teaching
  • Genuine passion for languages and helping young people succeed
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
  • Secondary teaching experience preferred – ECTs also welcome to apply
