We are working with a welcoming school in Tewkesbury to appoint an enthusiastic Geography Teacher for a long-term placement starting 18th May. About the Role
As a Long-Term Geography Teacher, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality lessons to KS3 and KS4 classes, following existing schemes of work. You will support students in developing a strong understanding of geographical concepts, enquiry skills, and real-world applications, while fostering enthusiasm for the subject.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Teach a broad curriculum covering physical, human, and environmental geography
- Use a range of teaching strategies to support and challenge learners of mixed abilities
- Follow the school’s curriculum plans, policies, and pre-prepared resources
- Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment
- Encourage critical thinking, discussion, map skills, and data interpretation
- Support pupils who require additional guidance, including behaviour or learning support
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and wider educational values
- Inspire curiosity about global issues, sustainability, and the world we live in
What We’re Looking For
- QTS or relevant experience teaching Geography at secondary level
- Strong classroom management and confident delivery of the curriculum
- Ability to engage, motivate, and support students of varying abilities
- Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Passion for Geography and encouraging students’ curiosity and achievement
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and high professional standards
- Previous secondary teaching experience is desirable – ECTs are welcome to apply
