About the Role
As a Long‑Term IT Teacher, you will deliver well‑planned, engaging lessons in IT and Computer Science, ensuring students gain confidence in key areas such as coding, networks, data handling, online safety, and digital literacy. You will play a central part in supporting the school’s digital curriculum, maintaining high expectations, and helping students progress academically and personally.
This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, organised, and enthusiastic-someone who can inspire students while maintaining a structured, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach high‑quality IT and Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver lessons in line with curriculum standards, ensuring clear progression and challenge
- Support students in developing strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Use school systems and platforms effectively to support teaching and assessment
- Maintain an inclusive, calm, and engaging classroom environment
- Provide additional support to learners who require guidance or confidence‑building
- Work collaboratively with the IT department on planning, assessments, and resources
- Contribute to the school’s wider commitment to digital learning and innovation
- Promote safe and responsible use of technology among students
What We’re Looking For
- QTS and experience teaching IT or Computer Science in a secondary setting
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for digital education
- Excellent organisation, communication, and classroom management skills
- Ability to inspire, challenge, and support learners of all abilities
- Experience delivering coding or Computer Science content (beneficial but not essential)
- Proficiency with school systems and IT tools
- A proactive, supportive, and professional approach to teaching
