We are seeking a dedicated Maths specialist to join a well-established school in Bridgwater as soon as possible. About the Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that motivate learners of all abilities. You will contribute to a high-performing department, participate in planning and assessment, and play a key role in raising achievement across the subject.

You’ll work closely with colleagues to deliver a curriculum that supports fluency, problem-solving, and reasoning skills. A passion for your subject, strong classroom presence, and a commitment to helping students succeed are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons to KS3-KS4 students
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress to support continued development
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Differentiate lessons to support a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and moderation
  • Work closely with colleagues, tutors, and senior leaders to support whole-school priorities
  • Support students with exam preparation, revision, and intervention sessions where required
  • Build strong relationships with students and promote a love of learning
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Maths
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and supportive lessons
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A positive, proactive, and reflective approach to teaching
  • Experience teaching at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the school’s values
