About the Role
In this long-term role, you will deliver engaging and structured PE lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will support students in developing physical competency, teamwork skills, confidence, and a positive attitude toward health and fitness. You will oversee both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum, contribute to extra-curricular sports clubs, and help maintain a safe, organised, and motivating environment.
You’ll be expected to establish routines, uphold high expectations, and deliver lessons that challenge, inspire, and encourage students of all abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach a range of sports and practical activities, promoting fitness and participation
- Support with GCSE PE theory content where required
- Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning atmosphere
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience
- Provide additional support to students who may need help with understanding or behaviour
- Positively contribute to the school’s inclusive and community-focused ethos
- Assist with extra-curricular clubs, sports teams, and school competitions
What We’re Looking For
- QTS with experience teaching PE at secondary level
- Strong behaviour management and confident communication skills
- Ability to motivate, challenge, and support mixed-ability groups
- A positive, proactive, and energetic teaching approach
- Genuine passion for sport, fitness, and youth development
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values
- Secondary experience preferred – ECTs also welcome to apply
