About the Role

As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity, develop scientific thinking, and promote progress across all abilities. You will play an important role in planning, assessment, and departmental development while contributing to a curriculum that combines practical investigation, theoretical knowledge, and real-world application.

A strong passion for your subject, confidence teaching KS3-KS4, and excellent classroom management are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3-KS4
  • Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (or specialise where appropriate)
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress
  • Create a supportive and structured learning environment
  • Differentiate lessons to meet varied learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department to develop curriculum resources
  • Prepare students for exams through revision, intervention, and targeted support
  • Promote positive behaviour, effort, and engagement in lessons
  • Encourage a love of science and inquisitive learning

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
  • Ability to plan and deliver motivating, challenging lessons
  • Confident classroom management and positive communication skills
  • A proactive, reflective, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
