About the Role

We are looking for an inspiring and creative Media Studies Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Bristol. You will play a key role in delivering a dynamic and engaging Media curriculum across Key Stages 4 and 5, supporting students to develop the analytical, technical and creative skills needed for success in a modern media landscape.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to high-quality teaching and innovative practice within a supportive and collaborative department.

What We’re Looking For

  • A PGCE in Secondary Education (Media Studies or a related subject).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Media Studies, including contemporary media forms, theory and production.
  • A passion for engaging students with creative, practical and theoretical media work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Media Studies lessons across KS4 and KS5.
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments with well-structured and challenging lessons.
  • Support students with both theoretical content and practical media production tasks.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities within the department.
  • Assess, track and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
