Motor Vehicle Lecturer – Bordesley Green – Immediate Start

Applications without the required Motor Vehicle teaching qualification (Level 3) and UK-based teaching experience (evidenced on your CV) will not be considered.

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join a well-established college campus in Bordesley Green. This is an immediate start sickness cover position for a minimum of 4 weeks, with the likelihood of extension. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high‑performing vocational department and support learners progressing into the automotive industry.

Key Details:

Location: Bordesley Green (College Campus)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Sickness Cover (Minimum 4 weeks, may extend)
Working Hours: 18 hours per week
Working Days: Monday – Wednesday
Qualification Required: Must be qualified to teach Motor Vehicle Level 3

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A recognised teaching qualification and the ability to teach Motor Vehicle Level 3
• Strong subject knowledge across automotive servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and industry standards
• Experience delivering practical and theory-based Motor Vehicle sessions
• The ability to motivate learners and support progression into apprenticeships or employment
• Excellent classroom management and workshop safety awareness
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, industry‑relevant Motor Vehicle lessons and workshop sessions
• Ensure all practical tasks follow health and safety regulations and meet awarding body requirements
• Assess learner progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records
• Support learners with varying ability levels, including those requiring additional guidance
• Contribute to a positive and professional learning environment
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and learner wellbeing
