About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Music Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 through engaging, well‑structured lessons that celebrate creativity, performance, and musical understanding.

You will join a committed and supportive department that values both academic achievement and the wider enrichment of the school community through music.

What We’re Looking For

  • A PGCE in Secondary Education (Music or a related specialism).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a wide range of musical styles, traditions and technologies.
  • Confidence in delivering practical, theoretical and performance-based lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Prepare students for GCSE Music, including performance, composition and listening components.
  • Develop enrichment opportunities such as choirs, ensembles, or instrumental clubs.
  • Support school concerts, productions, and community events.
  • Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
