Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our team in a large nursery setting located in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the care and development of young children, contributing to a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily care routines of children, including feeding, changing, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
  • Support the nursery staff in implementing educational programs and activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observe and record children’s progress and behavior, providing feedback to senior staff as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults alike.
  • Basic understanding of child development principles and the EYFS framework.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required for this role.
