About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and social well-being of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individual and group support to pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
* Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement support plans for pupils with specific needs.
* Supervise pupils at break times and lunchtimes, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
* Support the delivery of pastoral care programmes such as anti-bullying initiatives and social skills training.
* Build positive relationships with pupils and their families.
* Contribute to the overall well-being of the school community.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in an educational setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong empathy and understanding of children’s needs.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* A calm and patient demeanour.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Relevant qualifications in childcare, youth work, or a related field.
* Experience of using de-escalation techniques.
* Knowledge of child protection procedures.
