Although the job is Temporary, through Monarch Education to begin with, there is a chance that the role can be made permanent. The school is seeking an individual who is confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs as well as their physical needs.
Managing challenging behaviour
Ability to manage emotional and physical well-being.
Ability to talk to parents and carers when needed.
Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)
Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.
Collaborating effectively with the class teacher and fellow colleagues to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Providing one-on-one and group support to students with MLD, Down Syndrome, ASC, and SEMH needs.
Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood.
The Ideal Candidate/Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
Strong behaviour management skills and communication skills
Ability to create a supportive learning environment with students who have diverse needs.
Has a patient and empathetic approach whilst working with the children.
