Location of job role: Peterborough

Salary: £120-£217 p/day

Start date: ASAP

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

A primary school in the Peterborough area are looking for a KS1 Primary Teacher/Supply Teacher to support them on a day to day or long term basis. The candidate must be comfortable working in either KS1 and must be happy following plans and creating their own when needed.

The ideal candidate will:

• Will need a QTS if they are a qualified teacher
• Have UK based Teaching experience or references commenting on their experience as an Unqualified Teacher if looking for supply
• Have Qualified Teacher Status (essential requirement)
• Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
• Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
• Have excellent behaviour management skills
• Be able to plan lessons thoroughly or follow other plans created by Teachers
• Lead a class of 20-30 children
• Work on a casual basis

Main Responsibilities:

• Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
• Covering sickness
• Supporting SEND children with their work and working 1:1 with these pupils
• Managing/directing a TA within the classroom
• Managing difficult behaviours
• Taking the register
• Supervising on lunch and break times
• Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
• Building relationships with staff and pupils
• Collecting evidence of children’s work to support their assessments
• Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the children’s progress
