Monarch Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for a school within the Birmingham area. The client is seeking an individual who is passionate about teaching aswell as an individual who is confident in communicating and interacting with young people.

Job Description:

  • Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)
  • Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.
  • Ability to manage behaviour and talk to parents and carers when needed.
  • Take part in after school activities (if needed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating effectively with the class teacher and fellow Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one and group support to students
  • Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
  • Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood.

The Ideal Candidate/Qualifications:

  • Will have previous experience as a teaching assistant or within a similar role.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to create a supportive learning environment with students.
  • Has a patient and empathetic approach whilst working with the children.
