Year 2 Class Teacher – Primary

Area: Chippenham, SN15 5AX

Salary: £130- 234 p/day

Start date: November 2024

Hours of work: Full Time

A one form entry primary school in Chppenham is recruiting for a Key Stage 1 Qualified Teacher. The role begins in November 2024, but there is flexibility on the start date for the right candidate. The school will consider both ECT & final year students. The role is teaching in Key Stage 1 and experience within this age group would be advantageous although not essential. This school is graded as ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection in 2015. The school strives to create a friendly, supportive working environment for staff which in turn creates a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for their pupils.

The ideal candidate will:

  • QTS or QTLS
  • Have the ability and knowledge to teach primary school pupils.
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds.
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a variety of subjects to primary pupils
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments.
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupil’s progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers.
