Monarch Education are now at the forefront of the recruitment for a Qualified teacher to work in a secondary schools SEND Department. The school is located in the Birmingham area, B27 and on full time, long term basis.

The role would include running phonics, some Maths support, and helping pupils in the Hub(a space for our SEND pupils to reset before going back into lessons).

As the teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing the necessary support to learners within a Secondary school environment, with a focus on strong communication, interaction and learning.
  • Understanding Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and Physical Needs Consistently providing support and encouragement to aid student’s progression and educational path.
  • Working 1-1 or within small groups and being their key worker.
  • Adapting your approaching to suit individuals learning capabilities and competency.
  • Has strong roots in classroom practice and is able to support staff in creating inclusive classrooms.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • QTS
  • Degree in another subject and having experience supporting children/pupils with special needs.
  • Experience of supporting young adults or secondary students in an educational environment.
  • Able to establish constructive and positive relationships with your pupil’s.
  • Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work with a positive outlook in Education.
  • An understanding of the teaching of phonics. High degree of resilience.
