RE Teacher – Birmingham – Start After February Half Term

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Birmingham. This is a long‑term, full‑time position, starting immediately after February half term, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a successful and values‑driven Humanities department.

• Location: Birmingham (Yardley area)
• Start Date: After February half term
• Contract Type: Long-term
• Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching RE at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
• A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting student progress
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, thought‑provoking RE lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Promote students’ understanding of world religions, ethics, culture, and belief systems
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed
• Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and whole‑school initiatives
• Support students with varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL needs
