Contract: Full-Time Supply (Monday-Friday)
Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm
Salary: £154.05 – £232.8 per day (DOE)

Role Overview

We are recruiting Supply Religious Studies Teachers to support secondary schools across Bristol. You will deliver engaging RS/RE lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, following lesson plans provided by the department and maintaining a calm, inclusive learning environment.

This role is ideal for qualified RS/RE teachers looking for regular supply work and experience across local schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver RS/RE lessons using pre-prepared planning and resources
  • Create a respectful, inclusive classroom culture where all views are handled appropriately
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies and maintain a focused learning environment
  • Support students’ literacy, discussion skills, and critical thinking through enquiry-based learning
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and follow the school’s policies around sensitive topics

Skills Required

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish positive routines
  • Confident, clear communication and ability to facilitate structured discussion
  • Ability to engage students with religion, ethics, and philosophy topics in an accessible way
  • Adaptability across age groups and exam specifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies/RE to secondary-aged students (KS3/KS4)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Religious Studies/RE (essential)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidence handling sensitive topics appropriately
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
