Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Resource Base within a secondary school in Solihull, supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally within a structured and nurturing environment.
You will:
- Provide targeted support within the Resource Base provision
- Work with students with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs
- Adapt lesson materials and activities to suit individual learning needs
- Support the development of literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Help facilitate students’ reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Collaborate closely with teachers and the SEN team
- Monitor and report on student progress
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured support in line with EHCPs and individual support plans
- Provide 1:1 and small group intervention support
- Implement effective behaviour management and learning strategies
- Maintain consistency, routine, and a supportive learning environment
- Support students during transitions between lessons and activities
Requirements
- Experience supporting SEN within an educational setting (essential)
- Minimum 12 weeks’ experience in a UK school
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
