Secondary Supply Teachers – English, Design Technology & PE

Are you a passionate teacher looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? With fully flexible schedules, the freedom to choose your days, and immediate opportunities available, our agency is currently recruiting dedicated Secondary Supply Teachers to support schools across Frome, offering regular cover in English, Design Technology (DT) and Physical Education (PE). These three subjects are in high demand for us right now, but teachers of other subjects are also very welcome to apply. Supply teaching is a fantastic option for those seeking a better work-life balance, along with the opportunity to build valuable experience across different subjects and school environments. It’s also a great pathway into long‑term or permanent roles, allowing you to showcase your strengths while enjoying the variety and freedom that supply work offers.

About the Role

As a supply teacher working through our agency, you’ll step into a variety of secondary schools to deliver pre‑planned lessons and maintain a positive, well‑managed learning environment in the absence of the class teacher. No two days are the same – one day you may be supporting an energetic PE department, and the next you could be delivering English or DT lessons. We also offer continuous work for successful teachers, with repeated bookings often made at the same school, giving you both consistency and familiarity. We understand that flexibility is key, which is why you choose how many days you work. Whether you’re looking for full‑time supply, a few days a week, or the occasional day here and there, we tailor your schedule entirely around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑prepared lessons in line with school plans
  • Maintain a calm and positive classroom environment
  • Support students with their learning and behaviour
  • Always follow safeguarding procedures
  • Adapt confidently to different subjects and school settings

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills, suitable for a range of subjects including English, DT, and PE (other subjects welcome here)
  • Confidence in leading classes independently and maintaining positive behaviour across different learning environments
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach, with the ability to step into various subjects and year groups at short notice
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting student development in every lesson
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to build quick rapport with students, helping create a calm and engaging classroom atmosphere
