Secondary Supply Teachers – Maths, Food Technology & History

Are you a passionate teacher looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? With fully flexible schedules, the freedom to choose your working days, and immediate opportunities available, our agency is currently recruiting committed Secondary Supply Teachers to support schools across Cheltenham, offering regular cover in Maths, Food Technology, and History. These subjects are in particularly high demand right now, but teachers of all subjects are welcome to apply. Supply teaching is a fantastic choice for those seeking a better work-life balance, along with the chance to build valuable experience across a range of school environments. It also provides a natural pathway into long‑term or permanent roles, allowing you to demonstrate your strengths while enjoying the variety and flexibility supply work brings.

About the Role

As a supply teacher working through our agency, you’ll be stepping into different secondary schools to deliver pre‑planned lessons and maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom environment in the absence of the regular class teacher. No two days are the same – one day you might be supporting a busy Maths department, and the next you may be delivering Food Tech or History lessons. We also offer continuous work for successful teachers, with repeat bookings at the same school, giving you both familiarity and consistency. Flexibility is at the heart of what we do, which is why you choose how often you work. Whether you want full‑time supply, a few days a week, or occasional work, we tailor your schedule entirely around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑prepared lessons in line with school teaching plans
  • Maintain a calm, positive, and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Support students with their learning, progress, and behaviour
  • Always follow safeguarding procedures
  • Confidently adapt to different subjects, classes, and school settings

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong communication and classroom‑management skills, suitable for covering Maths, Food Technology, History, and other subjects
  • Confidence in leading classes independently and promoting positive behaviour
  • A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to step into different subjects and year groups at short notice
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting student development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to build quick rapport with students to create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere
