Monarch Education are recruiting for a SEMH learning support assistant in Worcester. With this opportunity you have the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of the students. The school is seeking an individual who is confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs as well as their physical needs.

Job Description:

• Managing challenging behaviour
• Ability to manage emotional and physical well-being.
• Plan and teach lessons with small groups of students, groups or individuals (if necessary)
• Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-on-one and group support to students with MLD, Down Syndrome, ASC, and SEMH needs.
• Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood.

The Ideal Candidate/Qualifications:

A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is not needed but is desirable. Individuals with Strong behaviour management skills will be highly regarded.

Your application will be subject to an enhanced child only DBS and two educational references, so it is essential that you have previous experience of working in an Education Setting.
