Competitive Daily Rate
Do you believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they face?
Are you patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people build confidence, overcome barriers, and achieve their potential?
Monarch Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly supportive and nurturing school that specialises in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is far more than a classroom support role. It is an opportunity to become a positive role model in a child’s life; someone who can provide encouragement, consistency, and belief when it matters most.
About the Role
Working closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, you will play a vital role in helping children engage with education, develop positive relationships, and build the confidence needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Every day will bring new challenges, but also incredible rewards. Whether it’s helping a child manage their emotions, celebrating a learning breakthrough, or witnessing a pupil achieve something they never thought possible, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a genuine difference.
Your Responsibilities
* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small-group basis
* Building trusting and positive relationships that promote engagement and confidence
* Encouraging participation in learning activities and classroom routines
* Supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils develop positive coping strategies
* Promoting positive behaviour through consistency, patience, and understanding
* Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
* Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where pupils feel valued and supported
* Celebrating successes and helping children recognise their own achievements
We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:
* Experience working with children or young people
* A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children who face barriers to learning
* Experience within SEMH, SEND, youth work, sports coaching, residential care, mentoring, or education settings (desirable but not essential)
Why This Role Is So Rewarding
The young people within this setting often need someone who believes in them, champions their progress, and helps them realise their potential. As a Teaching Assistant, you will become an important part of their journey.
You’ll celebrate milestones others may take for granted, help children rebuild confidence in themselves, and experience the fulfilment that comes from knowing your support has had a lasting impact.
