SEN Teacher

Weekly Pay Rates – £750.00-£1200- (The role is immediately paid to scale depending on experience)

Monarch Education are working in partnership with an outstanding SEN schools, in Bristol. These are exciting opportunities for a compassionate and resilient, SEN Teacher, to teach with pupils, between the ages of 3-19. These opportunities start immediately in September 2024, with each school requiring someone whom is a passionate SEND Teacher, that wants to make a difference.

The Role:

This teaching role is for a class of 8 pupils with a mixture of autism, PDA, developmental trauma delay and SEMH. You’ll be heavily supported by 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants and 6 teaching assistants, so excellent communication skills and team work will be required. Full planning responsibilities are incorporated in to the role. The opportunity is full-time, long-term with the likely-hood you will secure your teaching role and going permanent.

Start date: ASAP

Hours of work: Full Time between 8:15-16:45

The ideal candidate will:

  • QTS or QTLS
  • Have the ability and knowledge to teach primary school pupils
  • Have Experience in outdoor learning or SEMH Teaching positions
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a variety of subjects to pupils working to KS1-KS4 curriculum
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Working in a holistic outdoor learning environment
  • Focus on social-emotional learning and core subjects
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially lead in a subject area
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
