Monarch is recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant at Primary School in OX2. The role will be to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in a Year 4 class with additional need.

The school themselves takes pride in being able to deliver lesson plans in a variety of ways and utilising their outdoor surroundings to teach in. All the teachers at this school have the same drive and passion to work with each child and give them the best support for them to achieve their best potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the classroom teacher
  • Working 1:1 with a child with additional needs
  • Monitoring and evaluation of pupil progress
  • Behaviour management via ECHP

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience working with children with Down Syndrome
  • Will be required to administer insulin (if not insulin trained full training will be provided)
  • A strong team player, with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, who is able to support and inspire children to learn
  • Able to commute to OX2
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively in a dynamic and supportive environment
  • The ability to adapt to an ever changing workload
