Are you passionate about supporting SEN pupils?

Do you have relevant experience working as a Support Worker, Residential Care Worker or a relevant degree/qualification in Psychology, Criminolgoy, Health, and Social Care or similar?

Monarch Education are currently working with a Primary school in the Heywood area of Rochdale, who are looking for someone to support a pupil in Year 4 with SEND. The pupil has an EHCP in place for ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder); so experience of supporting young people with SEND or vulnerable adults in any setting would be essential.

  • Hours: 08:30-15:30 Monday to Friday
  • Supporting Year 4 pupil with ASD – 1:1
  • Mainstream Primary School – SEN Support
  • Experience in a school isn’t essential, but experience with young people or adults with SEND in any setting would be preferred.
  • Open to graduates who have studied in a field that links to SEND and have a clear passion for supporting SEND pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters.
  • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Prepare classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
  • Assist with the supervision of pupils out of directed lesson time, including before and

after school if appropriate and within working hours.
