SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support – Rochdale

  • Supporting behaviour and inclusion of an identified pupil
  • 1:1 support for a pupil in Key Stage 1 with a diagnosis of Autism
  • School-based experience is NOT essential. Candidates with transferable experience/knowledge are welcome to apply

A primary school in Rochdale is looking to recruit a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to assist a pupil with a diagnosis of Autism in KS1. They are looking to engage with candidates who are experienced in working with individuals with Autism of any age and who are capable of creating an inclusive learning environment for non-verbal individuals.

The role will commence ASAP with a view to continuing for the remainder of the time the pupils is at the school. This is a full-time role; Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be experienced working alongside children or young people with SEN or individuals with sensory needs and/or speech, language and communication needs; this does not need to be school based, those from other backgrounds with transferable skills are welcome to apply
  • Have a calm, nurturing approach and are able to implement personalised timetables
  • Have specific knowledge/experience of ASD

You will be provided with:

  • Ongoing support for a dedicated, supportive team; including additional training and free CPD from experienced Leaders in Education
  • Free Safeguarding training
  • £200 Referral fee for every member of staff that you recommend to Monarch Education (Terms & Conditions apply)
  • Highly competitive, negotiable rates of pay
