Monarch Education, part of Affinity Workforce, is proud to be supporting a specialist SEND college provision in the Solihull area. This inclusive setting supports learners with moderate additional needs, who can access the curriculum but benefit from consistent guidance, emotional support and structure to help them succeed.

Learners typically present with:

  • Moderate learning difficulties
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Sensory processing differences
  • Nurturing and emotional‑regulation support needs

Classes are small, friendly and well‑supported, with a focus on building confidence, independence and meaningful relationships. Staff work collaboratively across pastoral, academic and therapeutic teams to ensure each student thrives.

We are now seeking caring, patient and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join a lovely, well‑established class. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys helping capable learners stay engaged, build resilience and grow in confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide calm, nurturing support to learners who can access the curriculum but need help with confidence, routines and engagement
  • Support emotional regulation strategies and individual support plans
  • Assist with communication using visuals, prompts, schedules or AAC tools (training provided)
  • Encourage independence and participation during classroom and life‑skills activities
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Promote positive social interactions and help students develop transferable skills
  • Deliver 1:1 or small‑group support tailored to academic and emotional needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults in SEN, care, education or similar settings
  • No formal qualification required – a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is beneficial but not essential
  • A nurturing, patient and supportive approach
  • Confidence supporting learners with emotional regulation or communication needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of SEND strategies, moderate learning needs or SEMH support (desirable but not essential)
