Support Pupils in a Specialist Alternative Provision Setting

Monarch Education is working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision academy in Worcester, supporting pupils who require a highly structured, nurturing and behaviour‑focused learning environment.

The school caters for children and young people whose needs cannot currently be met in mainstream education, often due to social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, trauma, or challenging behaviour. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education and require consistent adult support to re‑engage with learning.

This role is ideal for someone who is resilient, calm under pressure, and genuinely passionate about supporting vulnerable pupils.

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Behavioural challenges and emotional dysregulation
  • Trauma‑related behaviours and attachment needs
  • Speech, language and communication difficulties
  • Learning difficulties alongside behavioural need

Pupils benefit from high staff‑to‑pupil ratios, clear boundaries, predictable routines and strong relationships with trusted adults.

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support throughout the school day
  • Support pupils to regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
  • Implement behaviour support plans and EHCP targets
  • Use consistent routines, clear expectations and de‑escalation strategies
  • Support learning activities adapted to individual needs
  • Supervise pupils during transitions, breaks and unstructured times
  • Assist with personal care where required (training provided)
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Help create a safe, calm and structured learning environment
